Stretching a pair of tights over my subjects’ faces and painting features onto them: eyebrows, eyes and mouth, I then photograph the results.
The completed portraits, look somehow inquisitive and vulnerable.
Under the painted schematic visage, perceptions are questioned, genders blurred and the image, somewhere between a painting and photograph, becomes poetic.
An experience also for the public that can follow live the metamorphosis.

Infilo un paio di collant in testa ai miei soggetti e ci dipingo sopra i tratti del viso: sopracciglia, occhi, bocca, poi scatto una foto. I ritratti finali, appaiono in qualche modo allarmati e vulnerabili. Sotto la schematicità del dipinto, la percezione viene messa in dubbio, i generi sfuocati e l’immagine, tra pittura e fotografia, diventa più poetica. Un ritratto altro emerge, estraniante, ma meno stereotipato, più intimo.  Un'esperienza anche per il pubblico che assiste in diretta alla metamorfosi.
